Core Program

Our core program offers imaginative and mindful experiences that are thoughtfully semi-structured, creating ample space for exploration and wonder.

Research indicates that nearly three out of four Australian preschool-aged children exceed national guidelines for daily screen time, with 55% of them not engaging in outdoor play every day. This excessive screen time and indoor living can diminish motivation for outdoor activities and lead to a disconnection from nature and their own senses.

At NP4K, we highlight the importance of feeling connected to nature rather than viewing ourselves as separate from it. Immersing ourselves in natural environments awakens our senses and revitalizes our spirits.

Richard Louv, in his book The Last Child in the Woods, introduced the term ‘Nature Deficit Disorder’ to describe the troubling trend of children spending less time outdoors and more time indoors, directly impacting their physical and mental well-being.

Our NP4K sessions require minimal resources, encouraging participants to arrive without equipment or expectations and depart with a richer connection to nature, themselves, and others.

Play is a fundamental aspect of our program, and nature serves as the ultimate playground for children. Through play, children experience a blend of creativity, imagination, problem-solving, resilience, and joy!
