What’s
Involved

What can you expect from a Nature Play 4 Kids program?

For starters, this is not just an outdoor adventure program or a sports program. While there is tremendous value in those activities for those who enjoy them, NP4K understands that not every child is inclined to scale the heights of a tree or engage in competitive sports.

Each NP4K program is distinct, yet they all share three essential components that intertwine to maximize interaction with nature, thereby unlocking the full spectrum of health benefits for your young person.

Connection – Play – Experience

Connection with nature, with others, and with oneself.

Unstructured play that fosters creativity and builds relational skills.

Experiencing nature through our senses to enhance overall wellbeing.

Each program will feature a series of engaging nature-based activities and ample time for exploration. Parents are encouraged to actively participate alongside their children, taking the insights and experiences gained during the program home with them to continue nature-based activities as a family.

Discover the joy of nature through our thoughtfully designed programs that cultivate a sense of belonging and community. Each session is meticulously crafted to inspire wonder and curiosity, allowing children to forge deep connections with the world around them.

Our experienced facilitators guide participants in exploring nature and developing a profound respect for the environment.

Join us in nurturing the next generation of nature lovers and stewards of our planet, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.

Seedlings Program

(Ages 3 – 6 years)

Seedlings is a 2-hour Nature Play 4 Kids (NP4K) program for ages 3-6 which offers young children a joyful introduction to the outdoors through play, curiosity, and connection.

Designed as a single session, with a term-based option available, NP4K is a semi-structured 2-hour experience and each session balances guided activities with opportunities for unstructured play and child-led exploration.

NP4Ks supports children to build a strong foundation for lifelong connection to the natural world and a sense of connection, with nature, with others, and with themselves. Through direct nature-based experiences, children develop confidence, trust, and a feeling of belonging.

NP4K encourages children to engage with the world through their senses. Feeling mud, listening to birds, watching leaves move, and exploring textures all help build awareness, language, and understanding of the world.

Play is how children learn best as it encourages exploration of social interactions, emotions, fosters creativity, builds communication skills and helps a child to understand how the world works!

Caregiver participation is welcomed and encouraged, helping children feel secure as they explore.

Saplings Program

(Primary school age)

The Saplings Nature Play 4 Kids (NP4K) Program for primary school-aged children offers a rich, immersive nature-based experience where curiosity leads the way. Over 2.5 hours, children explore, create, and problem-solve in a supportive, nature-based setting that encourages independence and confidence.

The Saplings NP4K session is semi-structured with activities to encourage play and nature connection, with space for exploration and magic! In an increasingly busy and structured world, children need time and space to be free, to imagine, and to connect with something bigger than themselves.

Nature play supports not only physical development, but also emotional wellbeing as being in nature with curiosity, enthusiasm and observing with our senses can calm our nervous system and support emotional regulation.

Each session allows children to take appropriate risks, collaborate with peers, and engage deeply with the natural world.

We invite your child to step outside, get their hands dirty, and discover what they’re capable of.

Treenagers Program

(Ages 12 – 19 years)

The Treenagers Nature Program offers teens a space to step away from pressure, noise, and screens, and reconnect with something real. Over 2.5 hours, participants are invited to explore the outdoors in a way that supports independence, self-expression, and genuine connection.

This is not about structured lessons or forced activities. It’s about providing a safe, welcoming environment where teens can be themselves and reconnect with nature through direct nature connection and play. Play doesn’t disappear in the teen years, it just evolves. Whether it’s creating, problem-solving, or simply hanging out in nature, play remains a powerful tool for wellbeing.

Nature offers a break from overstimulation and a chance to reset. Through sensory awareness, treenagers can slow down, regulate, and reconnect with their surroundings.

The Treenager sessions are semi-structured, with facilitators acting as guides rather than instructors. There is no expectation to participate in everything, respecting that each individual may engage differently. We focus on creating a space that feels safe, inclusive, and free from judgement.

Come as you are. No pressure, no expectations, it is an opportunity to explore, connect, and reset in nature

Forest Family

(Family Groups)

Our Family Nature Play Sessions are a chance to step away from the busyness of everyday life and reconnect; with nature and with each other.

Designed as a semi-structured 2.5-hour experience, these sessions invite children and their caregivers to explore, create, and play side by side in a relaxed, supportive outdoor environment. Whether you join in the play, observe, or simply enjoy being present, there is space for every family to engage in their own way.

At the heart of our program is connection between children and caregivers, within families, and with the natural world. Shared play, exploration and outdoor experiences help strengthen relationships, build trust, and create lasting memories.

Nature supports not only physical development, but also emotional wellbeing as being in nature with curiosity, enthusiasm and observing with our senses can calm our nervous system and support emotional regulation. Nature invites us to slow down and tune in. Through sensory experiences, feeling textures, listening to birds, and observing details, families can become more present and connected to the moment.
